Privacy notice
This notice explains what MaltaDays collects when you visit, why, and how to change your mind.
The short version
There are no accounts and no logins on this site. Nothing is stored about you unless you accept analytics cookies. If you decline, the only thing kept on your device is the record of that refusal, so the banner does not keep asking.
Analytics
With your consent the site uses Google Analytics 4 to count page views, to see which destinations are read, what people type into the search and match boxes, and which partner links are followed. This is measured in aggregate and used to decide which pages to improve. It is not sold and not shared for marketing.
Google Consent Mode v2 is in use, so the analytics tags load with storage denied by default and only switch on if you accept. IP addresses are truncated by Google before storage.
Affiliate partners
Links to accommodation, tour, ferry, car rental and flight partners are affiliate links. When you follow one, the partner may set its own cookie to attribute a later booking. That happens on their site under their own privacy policy, not this one. The arrangement is described in the affiliate disclosure.
Third parties that load on these pages
- Google Analytics 4, for the measurement above, only after consent
- Travelpayouts, which converts partner links into tracked affiliate links
- Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces used across the site
Each receives your IP address as a technical necessity of delivering the file, as happens on any website you visit.
What is stored on your device
One entry in local storage recording your cookie choice, kept until you clear it. Google Analytics cookies, only if you accepted, which expire within two years and can be removed through your browser settings at any time.
Changing your choice
You can change your mind at any time: use the Cookie choices link in the footer of any page, or reopen the banner here. Withdrawing consent takes one click, exactly like giving it. Analytics storage is switched off the moment you reopen the banner, before you choose again.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to processing, and complain to your national data protection authority. Since the site holds no account data and analytics is aggregated and pseudonymous, there is usually very little to hand over, but ask and you will get a straight answer. Write to hello@maltadays.com and we will answer within 30 days.
